Italy Under-21 coach Ciro Ferrara has expressed his delight at watching his team defeat Sweden 3-1 on Thursday evening in a friendly international.
Goals from Diego Fabbrini, Alberto Paloschi and Federico Macheda saw the Italians gather the win. It was the third successive victory for Ferrara, who has also led his team to wins against Turkey and England.
The former Juventus coach is understandably happy with the result and lauds the players for their hard work.
“The boys gave a great performance,” said Ferrara to Rai. “It was not easy but we won deservedly.
“We controlled the ball well and could have even scored more. I have to congratulate my players.”
“Now we must rest and then think about the game against Germany on Tuesday,” he concluded.
