Xavi believes the World Champions are the best team in the country's history...

Spain international Xavi believes that the current national side is the best the country has ever produced, as he prepares to collect his 100th cap against the Czech Republic in tomorrow's Euro 2012 qualifier.

"I think so far this is the best Spain team in history and we have achieved recognition around the world," he told Marca.
"People believe in Spanish football now that we are world and European champions, whereas before they never used to as we never won anything."

Speaking on his century, he added: "I am happy for these 100 games and I feel I have the strength for plenty more.

"I am living an extraordinary moment with these players and I am happy to be here with Spain. I want to carry on playing for the national team for a long time.
